"The prophetic tasks of the church are to tell the truth in a society that lives in illusion, grieve in a society that practices denial, and express hope in a society that lives in despair." - Walter Brueggeman
Though the call to follow Christ takes us on, what He described as a narrow path, it does not lead us away from society and into isolation, but deeper into the human story; the human condition; humanity’s need for healing, reality and hope. We do not engage in the society to convert people to Christianity, but rather to bring the hope, healing and love of Jesus to anyone and all, particularly the poor and marginalized.
Our deep desire is that many would join us in surrendering their lives into the arms of Jesus and continue to journey with us into community and a deepening of spiritual formation and faith, but we love because Jesus loves. We engage in society through justice, entrepreneurship and service because He came to serve. We seek first His justice and kingdom for that is His call to us as we follow him into eternal life.
Let’s engage. Let’s serve. Let's give. Let us proclaim that the kingdom of heaven has come near. Let’s heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the unclean and drive out the demonic.
